A globally recognised multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Designer to join their dedicated team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in project safety, working across diverse sectors within an internationally respected company known for its progressive approach and commitment to excellence.

The Senior Principal Designer Role

The successful Senior Principal Designer will become an essential part of a close-knit team, providing leadership and expertise in Construction Design and Management (CDM) services across projects in various sectors, including commercial, residential, education, and healthcare.

This role offers significant scope for career progression, allowing the Senior Principal Designer to impact project outcomes from the design phase through to completion, ensuring regulatory compliance and championing health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading and overseeing design risk management and compliance assessments.
  • Collaborating with clients and design teams to provide CDM guidance.
  • Conducting health and safety reviews and risk assessments at all project stages.
  • Developing pre-construction information (PCI) and reviewing construction phase plans (CPP).
  • Providing advisory support on CDM 2015 regulations and maintaining documentation.

The ideal Senior Principal Designer will have

  • A degree in construction, engineering, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.
  • Extensive experience as a Principal Designer or CDM Consultant within a consultancy environment.
  • IOSH or APS membership, with knowledge of Building Safety Act compliance.
  • A collaborative approach and strong communication skills, with a proven track record in managing complex, multi-phase projects.
