Special needs teacher required with asap start

Zen Educate are currently looking for a special needs teacher to take on a class within their secondary cohort on a full time basis up to Easter starting asap. Marking and planning is required. This is at a special needs school in Bristol that cater to a wide range of needs including down syndrome, SLD, MLD, and those on the autism spectrum.

Working hours are 8:30-4, Monday to Friday and term time only. The school have a wonderful team in place with many people loving work there from where we have placed people there before. Ideally we are looking for a teacher that has experience in teaching special needs from a specialist environment, but we are happy to consider a teacher from a mainstream setting that has some special needs experience also.

Like with any class in a special needs school, the class sizes are small with no more than 10 and lots of adult support to hand that can cater for students individual needs. The ideal teacher will have subject knowledge in more than one subject and be able to differentiate learning according to their attainment levels.

As with any teaching post UK QTS is required as well as a enhanced DBS on the update service, but this can be applied for should you currently not have one. Given the nature of the students we are looking for someone reliable and consistent since change and disruption of routine can be triggering for children.

If you are looking for some teaching work where you can make a measurable impact on the most vulnerable but are not looking for anything permanent, this is a great role to consider.
