About the role

Our client is looking for a Fire Suppression Engineer to carry out maintenance, fault finding and some small remedial works of fire suppression systems. You will liaise with with our Service and wider support departments to provide first rate servicing to the systems used by our clients. You'll be working as part of a skilled team of Engineers and Senior Engineers to build on the company’s reputation in quality and customer service.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Carrying out maintenance, fault finding and some small remedial works of fire suppression systems
  • Working with CO2, FirePro, Inert Gases, FM200 suppression systems
  • Deliver high class customer experience by providing a high standard of customer service including problem solving whilst building customer relationships and identifying sales opportunities.
  • Ensure legible and timely completion of all company paperwork in line with Company requirements.
  • Operate in accordance with the Company Handbook and all Company and customer’s quality standards and health and safety requirements.

Accountable for

  • Leaving customers with fully functioning fire suppression and alarm systems, unless Engineering Manager/Customer has been informed of the reasons that completion is not possible, before leaving the premises.
  • All own documentation being completed and reaching the required destinations within agreed time limits.
  • Ensuring that customers are always satisfied with the service they receive.

Skills

  • Experience working with electrical fire alarm and associated systems
  • Experience maintaining and servicing gas suppression systems
  • Demonstrates a logical approach to system fault diagnosis and rectification.
  • Understands different types of cable containment systems.
  • Deal with customers, end-users, construction personnel and in-house staff in a professional manner.
  • Verbal and written communication.

Technical knowledge

  • Understands the basic building service systems, e.g. air conditioning systems, with a view to interfacing with them.
  • Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA)
