The position is for a Senior Systems Safety Engineer based in Bristol, offering a salary of up to £70,000 depending on experience, along with a bonus and private medical benefits.
Candidates should have experience in producing and maintaining Safety Reports and Plans, as well as conducting Hazard Identification and Analysis.
Team and people management experience is essential, particularly within the context of UK Submarine programs and safety assessments.
Applicants must possess knowledge of various safety assessment methodologies and standards, including Fault Tree Analysis and Model Based Systems Engineering.
A minimum of several years of relevant experience is required, particularly in compliance with safety legislation and working with organizations such as DE&S.

Senior Systems Safety Engineer

Bristol

Paying up to £70,000 (DOE) + Bonus & Private Medical

Responsibilities:

Experience in the production and maintenance of Safety Reports and Plans: e.g. Safety Case Reports and Safety Management Plans.
Experience in carrying out Hazard Identification and Hazard Analysis.
Team and People Management Experience.
Safety assessment and management experience working on UK Submarine programs either within the SDA or supporting the design and manufacturing activities of UK submarines.
Nuclear Safety Design Justification (NSDJ) and Design Safety Justification Plans (DSJP).
WOME &Strategic Weapons Systems safety assessments.
Legislation Compliance Assessments and Statements.
Hazard Log Management including eCassandra.
Experience working with DE&S and following the ASEMS process.

Experience required:

Hazardous Materials Dossier production or maintenance.
Experience in carrying out Fault Tree Analysis (e.g. Isograph Reliability Workbench).
Requirements management.
Experience with Failure Modes, Effects (and Criticality) Analysis.
Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering.
Experience working with IEC 61508.
Familiarity with ARP4754A, or DO178C/DO254 and ARP4761.
Understanding of safety assurance of software and/or complex hardware.
Understanding / experience working with DEF STAN 07-85.
