A leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy In Bristol is seeking an experienced Head of Health & Safety to join their growing South West team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic Health & Safety professional to lead and develop the company's H&S division, working on a range of high-profile projects across multiple sectors.

The Head of Health & Safety Role

As the Head of Health & Safety, you will be responsible for overseeing all health and safety aspects within the consultancy, ensuring compliance across a wide range of projects. You will lead a team of H&S professionals, providing guidance and strategic direction, and work closely with senior management to enhance the company's health and safety culture.

The successful Head of Health & Safety will

  • Lead the Health & Safety division across multiple projects and sectors.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, including CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure best practices are implemented.
  • Develop and manage H&S policies, procedures, and risk management strategies.
  • Oversee site audits and inspections, ensuring safety standards are maintained.
  • Manage a team of H&S professionals, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Drive the company's commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety across all projects.

To be successful in this role, you will need

  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in a senior H&S role, ideally within a construction or consultancy environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM 2015 and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (IOSH, APS) is highly desirable.
