Hourly Lifestyle / Care Assistant to Music University Student

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a university student with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2. She is looking for a team of compassionate PAs to help her live her best life at university!
Start Date:September 2024
Working: Between 3 to 4 shifts per week on a two-week rolling rota
Location: University of Bristol
Rate of Pay & Benefits:
Pay: £15 per hour
5.6 week's holiday pro rata.
About our Client
Our client will be starting her first year at University of Bristol from September. She is extremely excited about this opportunity and is looking forward to moving into student halls!
She has a diagnosis of Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2. and is a full-time wheelchair user.
She has a great sense of humour and doesnt take life too seriously. Outside of her studies she enjoys a wide range of social activities, such as visiting theatre and watching sports. Our client is a Boccia athlete, who takes part in a numerous of Paralympic competitions. She competes frequently, where she is away with another assistant and she will also train when she is no away on a regular basis.
She leads an active social life and enjoys going out and about. With a kind and delightful persona, she is keen to embrace the full University life.
As written by our client
I have Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2, which is a muscle wasting
condition meaning my body is incredibly weak and I am unable to do most physical tasks. In
short, I basically cant do most things on my own. Due to this, I am looking for a team of PAs
to help me live my best life at university!
Outside of my studies, I enjoy a wide range of social activities and I can anticipate this will be
at an all-time high during my time at university, so naturally I will need a PA to accompany
me on my galavanting, which may include driving my van so you would need a full clean UK
drivers licence. Galavanting aside, I will need help with the boring stuff I am not able to do,
such as cooking, helping me eat/drink, cleaning, and laundry, and care tasks such as getting
me up and putting me to bed, showering me, personal care needs and medications
throughout the day.

This is a fantastic opportunity to truly make a positive difference to somebody elses life. To assist our client to achieve her goals and aspirations. A clean automatic driving licence is required for this role, as you will be driving the clients adapted vehicle.

-Personal Care Bathing, Dressing, Grooming, Toileting
-Health Care Administrating medicine, using medical equipment
-Driving Confident in your ability to safely drive the clients adapted automatic van
-Daily living Cooking, Shopping
-Housekeeping / Domestic duties
-Accompanying medical appointments
-Social Support
