Are you an experienced healthcare receptionist / administrator looking for your next role?

Our client is a luxurious private hospital based in Bristol with state-of-the-art facilities. You will join a wider team consisting of world-renowned surgeons who are passionate about transforming the lives of patients in the South West and beyond.  

This is an exciting new opening for an individual with experience in a similar healthcare setting to join the team to complete a variety of administrative tasks as well as being an important part of ensuring a high-quality patient journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve patients by greeting them, answering routine questions, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
  • Using patient portal and appointment reminder systems, mobile applications, and other forms of technology to manage scheduling, interact with patients and providers, and update files and patients’ records.
  • Coordinate and arrange onward referrals to other health care providers; for example: - x-rays, lab tests, physical therapy, MRI's and CT scans with the assistance of the practice manager.
  • Liaison with other medical secretaries, departments or Trusts to ensure continuity of care and treatment for patients between departments and sites, and ensure effective communication between departments.  This includes chasing outstanding test results in readiness for consultations. 
  • Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and takes detailed messages as needed.
  • Minimises patients’ stress by anticipating their anxieties, answering questions, and maintaining a calm and orderly environment in the reception area.
  • Completing a variety of administrative tasks for the hospital including the ordering of necessary equipment and food
  • Collects, sorts, distributes, or prepares mail, messages, or courier deliveries
  • Ensure high productivity and efficiency of the clinic: - maximising the use of booking systems to provide a smooth appointment booking service that works seamlessly for patients, clinicians and colleagues
  • Routinely monitor and assess clinic performance against targets 
  • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Completing a variety of ad-hoc tasks and supporting clinicians across the hospital as required

Requirements:

  • Previous patient facing experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge and application of GDPR issues particularly in how they relate to patient confidentiality and clinical / surgical situations.
  • Previous knowledge of clinical and patient management computer applications such as DGL / Pabau, and the ability to use and adapt to new IT systems as applicable 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Professional and presentable manner
  • The desire to go ‘above and beyond’ to ensure an outstanding level of service for all patients
