We are inviting a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join our forward-thinking academy. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering high-quality science education, fostering curiosity, and nurturing a passion for the sciences among students. This post will be teaching years 7-10 and planning and marking would be desirable, but not essential. This will be reflected in the pay rate.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Design and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with the national curriculum to students of varying abilities.
  • Utilise a range of teaching methods and technological tools to facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and retention of scientific concepts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate science projects, experiments, and field trips that complement classroom learning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and contribute to the wider school community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A degree in Science or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Experience teaching science at the secondary level.
  • Strong understanding of the current curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to learning.
