Teacher Active is proud to be working with a SEND school in Bristol, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Teaching Assistant / TA. A unique and highly rewarding opportunity, this role involves supporting children with varied diagnosis through 1:1 tutoring and alternative learning provisions. The school upholds a high standard of education, placing emphasised importance on the provision of social, emotional and mental health-centred programmes that help students to thrive and reach their full potential. We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant / TA who can make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with Autism/ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
The school is seeking a passionate and driven individual to take on this long-term role, although there is potential for this to become a permanent placement for the right SEND Teaching Assistant / TA. Every day is different and filled with new opportunities to learn and grow. The successful candidate will bring a fresh perspective and skill set to this role, be eager to develop their own skills to adapt to the pupils’ individual needs and have a positive impact on the whole school.
The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, ADHD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with great organisation and the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant / TA will have:
- Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
- Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
- Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent
- Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
