SEN Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, including physical, emotional, and learning disabilities.
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to students' individual needs.
- Help with classroom management, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Support the development of students' social and emotional skills, fostering independence and self-confidence.
- Assist with personal care and mobility for students who require it.
- Monitor student progress and contribute to the development of tailored learning plans.
- Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
- A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs, Education, or Child Development (e.g., SEN Teaching Assistant certification or equivalent) is beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students.
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
- Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) required.
