SEN Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, including physical, emotional, and learning disabilities.
Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to students' individual needs.
Help with classroom management, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
Support the development of students' social and emotional skills, fostering independence and self-confidence.
Assist with personal care and mobility for students who require it.
Monitor student progress and contribute to the development of tailored learning plans.
Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs, Education, or Child Development (e.g., SEN Teaching Assistant certification or equivalent) is beneficial.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students.
Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) required.
