We are currently looking for dedicated SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistants to join our team and provide essential support to students in need of additional help.

The Role:
We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work with children who have special educational needs in various schools across Bristol. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may have physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or emotional/behavioral challenges. You will provide tailored support, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed and thrive in their educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with a range of special educational needs, including physical, sensory, and learning disabilities.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to support students with their academic progress.
  • Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
  • Support the social and emotional well-being of students, promoting positive behavior and self-esteem.
  • Assist with the delivery of therapy or other interventions where required (e.g., speech and language therapy, physical therapy).
  • Help with personal care and mobility where needed, ensuring the safety and comfort of students.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (preferred but not required).
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional learning needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to supporting students.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training, or other relevant certifications) are an advantage.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one.
