A brand new Care Home for Children has opened and a Deputy Manager is needed to join the newly formed team to provide a safe and high standard of living for the 3-5 children.

As a Deputy you will work alongside the Manager and have responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and management of the registered children's home, ensuring the service provided is effective at promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and delivering positive outcomes for them.


You will supervise and support staff to deliver what is needed to meet children and young people's needs, including managing complexity, risk or vulnerability. You therefore need to know the Ofsted inspection framework, the quality standards governing children's homes and be able to evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of our work for your home.

You will work in a team and be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the children living in the home. You will be working in a newly refurbished home, provided with all food and necessities whilst working to stay at the home for 2 nights. You will need to obtain an enhanced DBS.

A number of your main responsibilities will:

  • Ensure that the young peoples needs are recognised and met where possible. This includes ensuring that they are free from discrimination within the home and to challenge discrimination from outside of the home.
  • Support the manager and team to ensure that the admission of the young people to the home is welcoming and reflects the expectations of the care plan.
  • Ensure that the home meets the individual needs of the young people as well as the needs of the group.
  • Ensure that the home provides an environment that is safe and sensitive to the needs of the young people being looked after.
