We are on the lookout for Male Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need tobe able to drive andhave a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.
Furthermore, asSupport Workeryou will be responsible for:
  • Daily activitiessuch as personal care;laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration
  • Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live
  • Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of
  • Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims
  • Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities
  • Assisting the people, you will assist to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments
  • Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
  • To work in accordance with SeeAbilitys values
We are looking for someone who can devote to 25 hours per week and are willing to work on a shift rota basis, coveringmornings, evenings, and weekends.

Who will you be supporting?
At Bristol Support Service we support 9 adults witha range of disabilities including visual impairment, cerebral palsy, and learning disabilities.

People atour home are a very active group who spend a lot of time getting out and about and engaging with the local community. We love going out to discos, pubs,shopping and visiting family.We do have a passion for art and music. Therefore, we often visit local theatre, crafts, also music concerts and choirs.

Responsibilities
  • Providing direct support when displaying behaviours to enable them to participate in a wide range of activities
  • Ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety
  • To promote independence and develop skills whilst assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences
  • To work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred care for people we support
  • Develop and contribute to the maintenance of records and support plans and function as a Key worker when required
  • To support our people to maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet their individual needs
  • To participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to everyone's needs
