Job Title: Group HR Director

Location: Bristol (minimum 3 days in-person), with regular travel to London (at least once per week). Flexible approach required to travel outside core hours.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.

This leading renewable energy company, with its headquarters in Bristol and offices in London, Italy and Spain has quadrupled headcount in the past 5 years and is looking to double headcount in the next 3 years.

They have left the start-up phase and are now entering the scale-up phase. As such, we are looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial HR Director who has been through the scale-up phase previously. HR Change experience is vital and you'll need to be a real self-starter as this role reports into the Board and is a highly-valued crucial role for the firm.

We need someone with experience of organisational development, who understands the challenges of a successful company growing at pace. The company has 150 people currently (with 85 different types of job) and will be at least 300 people by the end of 2027.

The Role

As Group HR Director, you will lead the provision of a strategic and efficient Human Resources function, driving organisational development and cultural transformation. You will work closely with senior leadership teams to create strategies that unlock the full potential of employees, foster innovation, and align the organisation’s culture with its core values.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing leadership, management development, and talent strategies to ensure effective succession planning.
  • Leading the development and execution of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategies.
  • Developing programmes to optimise employee well-being, including physical and mental health, happiness, and job satisfaction.
  • Managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of HR policies in line with employment legislation and best practice.
  • Providing strategic HR guidance to senior teams, ensuring organisational growth and cultural alignment.
  • Managing a high-performing HR team and administration function, empowering them to thrive and achieve their potential.
What We’re Looking For

To excel in this role, you will have:

  • A degree-level qualification with professional CIPD membership.
  • A proven track record of strategic HR and organisational development, including experience in employee relations and managing change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Creativity, innovation, and the confidence to challenge norms and lead change.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
