Reed is partnering with a leading service provider in Bristol to recruit a talented HR Advisor with expertise in Employee Relations. This is a part-time, permanent position.

Working Hours:22.5 hours per week - Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday

Hybrid working is available, but flexibility is required. You will manage your own diary, and depending on your tasks, you may need to be present at various sites. Mondays and Tuesdays are office days for the whole team; outside of these requirements, you can work from home.

About the Role:You will collaborate closely with two HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and the wider people team (currently 11 members). Primarily based at the main Head Office near Temple Meads, you will also visit various sites across Bristol (a driving license is required).

This role is crucial in delivering specialist HR advice and support to managers across multiple sites, addressing a wide range of Employee Relations (ER) issues and other HR matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert HR advice and support to managers and colleagues, ensuring adherence to company policies and employment legislation.
  • Coach and develop managers through various ER cases, including sickness/absence, investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, performance improvement, and appeals.
  • Handle colleague health and wellbeing matters with sensitivity, liaising with SHEQ, Occupational Health, and other wellbeing providers.
  • Log ER cases, maintain records, and provide management information to support team performance monitoring.
  • Manage potential risks with HRBP support and identify improvements to people policies, processes, and systems.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs and the wider people team on organisational change projects and initiatives.
  • Deliver briefings and facilitate training on HR policies and procedures.
  • Support and develop People Service Assistants (PSAs) in handling contractual and low-level ER queries.
  • Liaise with stakeholders at all levels, including Trade Union representatives, and maintain a safe working environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and proactive in staying updated with legal changes.
  • Significant experience in complex ER casework.
  • Skilled in facilitating and mediating difficult and sensitive conversations.
  • Committed to providing an excellent colleague experience and managing risks effectively.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to manage deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and confident in delivering training sessions.
  • Professional, approachable, and adaptable to a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Competent in Microsoft applications and experienced in using people management systems.

Additional Requirements:

  • Your CV should demonstrate experience with a broad range of ER issues, from low-level conduct/absence to appeals, change management, and handling complex multi-stranded ER cases.
