Location: North Bristol

Job: Part-time (24hrs per week) over 5 days a week, 18-month FTC

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in HR, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving HR processes and supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace.

The role

The HR Advisor is responsible for advising and supporting line managers in the application and implementation of HR policies and procedures. They help ensure a positive and legally compliant working environment and act as a role model for the company’s values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation: Produce contractual documentation throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Advice: Provide consistent HR advice on policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Compliance: Stay updated on employment legislation and ensure full compliance.
  • Support: Offer guidance on discipline, grievance, recruitment, sickness absence, performance management, capability, organizational change, and training.
  • Relationships: Build effective working relationships with line managers, HR team, trade unions, and other stakeholders.
  • Training: Provide training on HR policies to line managers.
  • Communication: Support the communication of key HR updates to the business.
  • Payroll: Assist in payroll checking and benchmarking roles for employment offers.

Performance Measures

  • Filling vacancies within 6 months.
  • Managing employee relations issues without risk to the business.
  • Timely completion of HR tasks.
  • Positive feedback from stakeholders.
  • Accurate system, data, and record maintenance.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of MS Office.
  • CIPD or equivalent experience.
  • Experience handling complex employee relations issues, writing HR policies, understanding employment legislation and best practices.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and digital tools.
  • Understanding of employee benefits, compensation structures, and payroll checking.
