Reed is working with a leading service provider in Bristol recruiting for a HR Advisor with experience in Employee Relations on a full time, permanent basis.

You will work closely with the 2 HRBP’s and with the wider people team (total currently 11). Primarily based in the main Head Office close to Temple Meads but required to visit other sites across Bristol (car/driving licence required).

This role is integral in providing specialist HR advice and support to managers across various sites, navigating a broad range of employee relations issues and other HR matters.

Your CV will need to show that you have dealt with a broad range of ER issues such-as low-level conduct/absence through to appeals, change management, dealing with complex multi-stranded ER cases.

There is hybrid working on offer, but diary dependent and flexibility required. You will manage your own diary, so dependent on what you are working on, it may that you need to be present at various sites. Monday and Tuesdays are office days for the whole team, outside of these requirements, you can work from home.

Working hours: Monday – Friday. 37.5 hours

Day to Day of the role:

Provide specialist HR advice and support to managers and colleagues, ensuring compliance with company policy and employment legislation.

Coach and develop managers through a range of employee relations cases, including sickness/absence, investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, performance improvement, and appeals.

Handle colleague health and wellbeing matters sensitively, liaising with SHEQ, Occupational Health, and other wellbeing providers.

Log employee relations cases, maintain records, and provide management information to assist in team performance monitoring.

Manage potential risks with HRBP support and identify improvements to people policies, processes, and systems.

Collaborate with the HRBPs and wider people team to support organisational change projects and initiatives.

Deliver briefings and facilitate training on HR policy and procedures.

Support and develop the people service assistants (PSAs) to handle contractual and low-level employee relations queries.

Liaise with stakeholders at all levels, including Trade Union representatives, and maintain a safe working environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

CIPD qualification level 5 or equivalent experience.

Strong understanding of employment legislation and proactive in staying updated with legal changes.

Significant experience in complex employee relations casework.

Skilled in facilitating and mediating difficult and sensitive conversations.

Committed to providing an excellent colleague experience and managing risks effectively.

Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.

Excellent organisational skills, able to manage deadlines and priorities.

Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

Excellent communication skills and confident in delivering training sessions.

Professional, approachable, and adaptable to a fast-paced and changing environment.

Competent in Microsoft applications and experienced in using people management systems.
