Our client, a prominent organisation within the maritime sector, is seeking a Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering, specialising in Process & Governance. This role is on a contract basis and offers flexibility to be based out of multiple locations including Filton, Barrow, Frimley, and Brough. This position requires expertise in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and an ability to innovate within the industry.
Expectation 2 days every fortnight onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist knowledge in developing engineering processes, communicating, and maintaining processes supporting the entire engineering lifecycle.
- Support and undertake governance activities, from planning through delivery and recommendation implementation.
- Ensure that design proving evidence is comprehensive, endorsed by the appropriate level of authority, and captured within the correct tools and documentation.
- Identify the need for, and develop processes and strategies to support governance of engineering activities.
- Contribute to systems transformation, redefining ways of working on all programmes within the engineering function.
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools such as Enterprise Architect (EA), UML, SYSml or Cameo.
- In-depth knowledge of process and governance practices within the defence, maritime, or a relevant industry.
- Proven ability to deliver systems engineering projects with innovative solutions and a focus on getting it right the first time.
- Understanding of systems transformation and process documentation.
- Familiarity with various toolsets including Cameo and EA.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate process impacts and support process improvements across the business.
