We are working with a global Software, Systems & Engineering company in the Defence Sector, supporting them with appointing a Senior Project Manager. This role is focused on Missions sector which is responsible for modernising and transforming the Company’s capabilities across the air ranges. The role will be responsible for the safe delivery and oversight of a diverse portfolio of strategically important investment projects as part of the Air Ranges Modernisation (ARM) Programme.

 Salary: circa £60k per annumLocation: Bristol or Boscombe Down hybrid (2/3 days per week mix)Working Hours: 37hrs per weekRequirements:  eligible for DV clearance  Key responsibilities:
  • Enable key digital, data and communication capability enhancements in a dynamic environment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers
  • Work with a team of highly experienced engineers to identify new capabilities that enhance the range offering for our customer
  • Manage external and internal stakeholders
  • Lead the development of business cases for future capabilities
  • Develop and maintain key project documents including Project Management Plan, Risk Register and Project Reporting Pack
  • Deliver a mix of standard and major projects with some interdependencies
  • Generate accurate work load forecasts to support resource planning within the business and functions
  Essential experience/ Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience leading and successfully delivering complex projects
  • Experience delivering defence, engineering and/or IT projects
  • Strong Stakeholder Management: identifying, planning and implementing actions to positively engage parties with an interest in, or influence over, the project outputs
  • Ability to manage multiple external customers
  • Experience in Defence, Aerospace or other closely related sectors
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in appropriate discipline
  • Hold a recognised PM qualification (APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Prince2
