Job Title: IT Support Engineer (12 month FTC)
Location: Bristol (on site)
Salary: 30,000 - 45,000 DOE
This is a great opportunity to join a leading a MS Gold Partner who work with a number of Public / Private Sector customers . They are looking for an experienced Support Engineer who has had exposure working with both Cloud and On-premise infrastructure environments.
As an On-Site IT Support Engineer, you will be integral to maintaining IT infrastructure for one of their key customers in Bristol. You will help to provide vital first line support, ensuring seamless operation of IT systems and equipment. With hands-on responsibilities, this role offers the chance to enhance IT stability and user satisfaction in a dynamic, industrial setting gaining valuable experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve IT support requests via phone, email, or ITSM ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, and other peripherals.
- Manage printer issues, including hardware repairs and software configurations.
- Ensure compliance with company security policies and perform daily system checks.
- Maintain and organise IT asset inventory to ensure accuracy.
- Create and update IT process documentation and generate helpdesk performance reports.
Skills required;
- Proven experience in an IT support role, ideally in Heavy Industry setting with both on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS client builds and Microsoft Office Suite, with exposure to Windows Server with Active Directory.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools, OS Software & Hardware troubleshooting, and helpdesk ticketing systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Nice to have;
- Experience with network troubleshooting, remote desktop tools, and VPN/network security tools.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional, or ITIL Foundation).
- Knowledge of PowerShell and batch scripting and exposure to Group Policy.
- Familiarity with server hardware like HP ProLiant and tools like ManageEngine Service Desk Plus.
