37.5 hours per week, 08.00 to 16.00, Monday to Friday – office based, Filton, Bristol BS34 7PY

Based at our customer’s offices you’ll be a part of the DHL Global Forwarding “in-house” customs team, overseeing the customs process, building strong working partnerships with the customer, key stakeholders and service providers whilst collaborating with our team of experienced customs professionals – some of the best in the business!

Your role as a Customs Clerk:

  • Complete and submit customs declarations 
  • Prepare and review relevant documentation i.e. invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills
  • Update key internal and external stakeholders and customs authorities on shipments
  • Offer guidance on customs-related matters
  • Resolve issues relating to disputes, inspections or customs delays and update relevant parties 
  • Determine goods tariff classifications and calculate duties, taxes, and fees

About you - you will have:

  • Experience within a logistics/freight environment ideal but not essential
  • Ideally knowledge of customs, imports or export processes but not essential
  • Administration experience in a fast-paced office environment, with customer contact
  • A high attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and efficiently manage workload
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Outlook and experience in utilising data management systems
  • The right to live and work in the UK – Note: sponsorship is not available
