Our client, a world leader in abatement systems, is currently seeking a Project Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This permanent role offers a unique opportunity to work with like-minded engineers at a centre of excellence just south of Bristol, contributing to significant projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gases produced during the etching of electronic chips.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete risk assessments with key stakeholders to maintain a safe and effective work environment.
  • Collaborate with the PME lead to create and improve manufacturing engineering systems and process documentation.
  • Manage product manufacturing processes, including working with manufacturing cells such as sub-assembly, final assembly, final testing, and despatch.
  • Create production work instructions, DFM, make/buy decisions, Capex, and PFMEA to aid in an effective and efficient build process.
  • Manage improvement projects, including planning, driving, and completing ME deliverables in readiness for NPI stage gate reviews.
  • Implement major projects and continuous improvement initiatives, utilising methodologies like 5S, VSM, Kaizen, and TPM.
  • Perform root cause analysis and investigations to resolve issues arising from internal nonconformities and external FRACAS or HSE issues.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, along with a relevant degree or substantial practical experience.
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies including TPM, SMED, 5S, 8D problem solving, and Kaizen.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining manufacturing process documentation.
  • Knowledge of NPI, PCP gate methodology, MRL, PFMEA, make/buy decisions, and DFM.
  • Experience leading NPI initial build activities and training.
  • Ability to lead by example, demonstrating compliance, quality, and safety mindsets.
  • Capability to work on own initiative and direct resources effectively.
  • Proven experience in design for manufacture.
  • Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
