Job Title: Fitter

Salary: £17ph + holiday allowance + company VAN (OT available, paid at £25.50ph)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter to join our team within the construction production sector. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant machinery and equipment used on our premises. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background and a passion for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on a wide range of plant machinery.
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and carry out necessary repairs.
- Ensure all plant machinery is in safe and operational condition, adhering to safety regulations and company standards.
- Keep accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Liaise with site managers and other teams to ensure minimal downtime of plant equipment.
- Assist in the assembly and commissioning of new machinery when required.
- Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and site staff.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role, with a strong understanding of plant machinery.
- Relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
- Experience working with modern construction plant and diagnostic equipment.
- Additional certifications (e.g., CSCS card, IPAF, or LOLER certification).
