About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter to join our team within the construction production sector. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant machinery and equipment used on our premises. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background and a passion for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on a wide range of plant machinery.
  • Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Ensure all plant machinery is in safe and operational condition, adhering to safety regulations and company standards.
  • Keep accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Liaise with site managers and other teams to ensure minimal downtime of plant equipment.
  • Assist in the assembly and commissioning of new machinery when required.
  • Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and site staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role, with a strong understanding of plant machinery.
  • Relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with modern construction plant and diagnostic equipment.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., CSCS card, IPAF, or LOLER certification).
