An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client. They are a successful and innovtive engineering company that are offering a stable and lucrative career in their extremely successful business. They require a Mechanical Fitter to to ensure assemblies are manufactured correctly to specification and on time and to fit and assemble machine parts accurately to engineering drawings

We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter who ideally has the following skills:

  • To fit and assemble parts accurately to engineering drawing.
  • To accurately fit sub assembly parts using engineering drawings.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to fit and assemble components.
  • Use pillar drills, deburring tools and grinding wheels safely where necessary.
  • Use engineering measuring equipment where necessary to ensure components are to specification.
  • Drill and tap components when necessary.
  • Ensure all torque requirements are met and marked as per procedure.
  • Rework and fitting of components prior to final assembly
  • Checking end float & measuring backlash
  • Operation, recording results & installation/removal of Gearboxes from automated test rig
  • Collation of components, preservation & final packing of completed assemblies
  • Improving & maintaining a high level of 5S throughout the assembly environments
  • Desirable skills and experience:
  • Mechanical Apprenticeship.
  • Proven ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to read pneumatics drawings advantageous.
  • Flexibility to travel abroad to customers if required.
  • Proven effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Rights to work in the UK
