Mechanical Fitter (multiple needs)

Based in Bristol

Site based work Monday to Friday

10 hours per day flexible working hours

Disassembly of large machines / Rebuilding and Refurbishing / Inspection of Machine Components

This well-established engineering services company specialise in providing service and maintenance within the aerospace industry, working on advanced machinery. This company are looking for multiple Mechanical Fitters for a 5-week period. You will be involved in the disassembly, refurbishment and rebuilding of a large format CNC machine. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will need to carry out the following duties:

  • Disassemble large CNC machines, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues with the machine components
  • Rebuild and refurbish CNC machines according to engineering specifications
  • Refit and reassemble components
  • Perform testing and quality checks on reassembled machines
  • Work closely with engineers and other technical teams
  • Maintain accurate records of refurbishment work
  • Follow safety protocols and always ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines

The successful Mechanical Fitter will have the following attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter fitting and assembling large machines, (preferably within CNC machine refurbishment or a related field)
  • Knowledge of CNC machinery
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Skilled in the use of precision tools for aligning and testing mechanical components (e.g., micrometres, dial indicators).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose faults and recommend effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Safety-conscious, with a thorough understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
