Abatec is offering an opportunity for a highly skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their Engineering team in Avonmouth.

Full-Time, Permanent Role

  • 17 - 18per hour
  • Rotating weekly shifts: 7am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday / 7:30pm - 6am, Monday to Thursday

This role involves working in a dynamic metal recycling shredder plant, where the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining fixed plant machinery at optimal standards to ensure top production performance. Reporting to an experienced and supportive Site Manager, this position is integral to the operational excellence of the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to plant breakdowns and assist in corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support for plant operations.
  • Ensure plant availability and maintain production at the highest possible level.
  • Uphold strict adherence to all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability policies.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, positive employee relations, and teamwork.
  • Support budgetary goals and cost management.
  • Embrace continuous improvement initiatives.
