Are you an experienced claims handler looking for a new challenge? Our client is seeking a Senior Claims Handler to join their dedicated and professional team, offering an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse caseload of legal claims while making a difference in clients' lives during critical moments.

About the Role

As a Senior Claims Handler, you'll work on cases valued up to £25,000 across various legal matters, providing a timely, high-quality service to insured clients. You’ll develop broad legal knowledge, manage client expectations, and collaborate with panel law firms to ensure claims are resolved efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to clients experiencing legal crises
  • Manage a portfolio of claims, assessing validity, liability, and quantum
  • Draft clear and professional correspondence, maintaining consistent communication with insured clients
  • Negotiate settlements, instruct external experts, and handle complex legal issues
  • Ensure compliance with all stipulated processes and authority limits
  • Provide support to junior colleagues and contribute to learning and development initiatives
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including audits of external law firms
Requirements:
  • A customer-centric mindset with resilience and empathy
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex information
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with strong organisational skills
  • A degree or equivalent in law, business, insurance, or a related field, OR a minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) with 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word
  • CII qualification or currently working toward one
