TRADING UNDERWRITER - BRISTOL - £23K - £38K
Our client, a major name within financial services, are currently recruiting for an experienced Trading Underwriter to join their growing team.
As a Trading Underwriter you will report into the Trading Underwriting Team Manager and work alongside Senior and Assistant Trading Underwriters.
The Trading Underwriters are responsible for dealing with business partners on all aspects of their account, providing the partners with a bespoke service, but also getting involved in the underwriting of standard products . They will visit our business partners to negotiate renewals and rates, provide performance updates and pro-actively manage their insurance risk. They are also responsible for identifying any underwriting issues negatively impacting business partners and working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve these issues to our business partner’s satisfaction. My client works on a Tiered business partner basis and you would be responsible for partners across the spectrum.
As part of the role you will be required to occasionally demonstrate flexibility in the hours you work, it is a requirement of the role to occasionally spend time away from the office.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure department KPI’s and SLA’s are met
- To engage with business partners to ensure high standards of service delivery
- To apply your technical knowledge and expertise to the decision making process
- To deliver sustainable profitable growth through the business partners you manage
- To negotiate with business partners around rates and renewals
- Exposure monitoring, analysis and interpretation, including the production of quarterly reviews and renewal packs
- Ensure that all your obligations to internal and external stakeholders are met in good time
- As the clients underwriting lead you should have the knowledge to take a leading role with the business partners to support them in finding the right solution
- To take an active leadership role as part of the internal team when discussing the underwriting implications of the business partner and their insurance risks
