I am actively seeking a CAD Technician to join a successful and thriving Multidisciplinary Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy in Bristol. My client is a leading consultancy that specialises in providing high-quality design and technical solutions to a diverse range of clients across various industries. They pride themselves on fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, where every team member is encouraged to grow and develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities for this CAD technician role include:

  • Produce detailed and accurate CAD drawings for structural and civil engineering projects, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and client specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to refine designs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless project delivery
  • Assist in the preparation and review of technical reports, calculations, and documentation to support design decisions
  • Maintain clear and organized project records, ensuring design revisions and updates are properly documented
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and regulations, and proactively identify potential design issues or conflicts
  • Stay up to date with the latest software tools and industry trends, implementing best practices within the team
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are met on time, contributing to the overall success of the project

Skills & Qualifications for this CAD Technician include:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a CAD Technician, ideally within the structural, civil, or architectural engineering sectors
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) with experience in Revit being a distinct advantage
  • Strong technical understanding of engineering drawings, construction details, and design principles
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and engineering codes
  • Exceptional attention to detail with an ability to spot inconsistencies and design flaws
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
