This is an excellent opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Engineer looking to join a growing, international company in a highly varied role offering excellent benefits and training opportunities.

This company has been established for over 50 years and has become a world leading engineering business that provides support within the defence, aerospace, oil and gas industry. With multiple sites across the UK and the rest of the world, they are now looking to grow the managed service support team in Bristol which specifically covers the maritime side of the business.

In this role you will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd Line Technical Support both company wide and to external clients. This will include troubleshooting and patching the existing operating systems and supporting 3rd party software. You will also undergo product specific training provided from the Norwegian side of the business to get you up to scratch on the in-house software at which point you will then be able to offer both remote and face-to-face support to sites across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience and familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux and SQL Server where you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting and patching. Strong knowledge of network technologies, including LAN/WAN, TCP, VMware and Cloud (preferably Azure) are also essential to the role. Lastly, while qualifications such as Cisco, ITIL Foundation and Windows Server MCSA are desirable, strong industry experience will also be considered.
