Reed is actively seeking motivated and passionate School Catering Assistants to join our fantastic portfolio of schools across Bristol. This role is perfect for individuals who are at the heart of the school's catering team, dedicated to providing excellent food service and contributing positively to the school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve food items while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Ensure the kitchen and service areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Engage with pupils and staff, building positive relationships and promoting a welcoming dining experience.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work effectively within the catering team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
  • Handle food with care, understanding the importance of allergen awareness and dietary requirements.
  • Adapt to varying daily tasks and challenges within a busy school kitchen.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of food handling, preparation, and hygiene practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working well with a diverse range of pupils and staff.
  • High level of practical and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to handle new and challenging situations with a positive attitude.
  • Strong team player who can also work independently using their own initiative.
  • Awareness of health and safety requirements in a kitchen environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced setting.
  • Flexible and positive attitude towards work.
