An established and highly regarded planning consultancy is looking for an experienced Principal Planner to join their Bristol office. Specialising in renewable energy projects such as solar arrays and battery storage, the company works on a diverse range of exciting, impactful developments. With a commitment to sustainable, community-focused planning, they are seeking a skilled planner to lead and deliver innovative energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage major renewable energy projects, including solar arrays and battery storage developments. - Provide high-level strategic planning advice to clients, stakeholders, and local authorities. - Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications, supporting documents, and reports. - Ensure projects align with planning policy, environmental regulations, and community considerations. - Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including local councils, landowners, and environmental groups. - Mentor and guide junior planners, contributing to their professional development. - Provide thought leadership and contribute to the company's growth and reputation in the energy sector.

Requirements:- RTPI accredited degree or equivalent relevant qualification. - Chartered Member of RTPI (or working towards, with support for APC). - Significant experience in planning practice, with a focus on renewable energy projects. - Expert knowledge of the UK planning system, particularly within the energy and infrastructure sectors. - Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead multi-disciplinary teams. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results.
