Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a leading Planning & Development Consultancy in their hire of an ambitious Senior / Principal Town Planner to their Bristol based team.

My clients Bristol office is comprised of specialists in Planning, Design, Transport, Infrastructure and Heritage, who work collaboratively to deliver results. Due to an exciting pipeline of work, they are now seeking to expand the team with the addition of an experienced Senior or Principal level Town Planner.

As a part of a leading consultancy in the UK, you will be given the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of planning projects covering various sectors and dealing with a variety of clients, with a focus on renewables, residential (including specialist housing for senior people), and commercial (employment and town centre) development.

Duties of the Role:

You'll be undertaking public consultation, preparing, submitting and monitoring planning applications, as well as collating evidence for appeals, negotiating applications and also moving towards managing your own projects. We're with you every step of the way and we offer opportunities for learning and development to help support your career goals and ambitions.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Chartered member of the RTPI or working towards the APC.
  • Previous experience in researching, preparing, submitting planning applications, statements and appraisals or experience in dealing with pre-application enquiries, determining applications and preparing Officer Reports.
  • Experience in planning practice (public or private).
