Principal Planner
Location: Bristol

Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a leading property consultancy in the South West, whose Bristol based team is now looking for a Principal Planner to join them and help lead on a varied projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments in the region.


As a Principal Planner, you'll take the lead on a diverse range of projects, guiding planning applications and managing client relationships. You'll work with a range of stakeholders, from local authorities to private developers, to help deliver successful planning outcomes. You'll be expected to provide strategic advice, manage project teams, and help mentor junior staff, all while delivering high-quality results for our clients.

Candidate Requirements
You'll be someone with significant experience in planning, ideally with a strong background in the Southwest region. We're looking for someone who can bring both technical expertise and commercial awareness to the role. The ideal candidate will have:

  • MRTPI (Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute) status.
  • Experience managing complex planning projects with a strong track record of success.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to work.
  • A real passion for town planning and making a positive impact on communities.
