Penguin Recruitment is excited to be supporting one of Bristol's leading planning consultancies in their search for a dedicated and experienced Principal Town Planner to join their dynamic team!

This consultancy offers a wide range of planning services to both public and private sector clients, covering sectors such as residential, commercial, retail, healthcare, energy, education, and leisure for both national and local clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of a variety of projects, providing expert advice, managing planning applications, and handling appeals.
  • Develop and present planning appraisals, strategy reports, and policy recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications and related documentation.
  • Monitor and negotiate applications after submission, including representing the team at relevant meetings.
  • Lead and manage planning appeals.
  • Contribute to the preparation of representations on emerging planning policies and local plans.

Candidate Requirements:

  • RTPI accredited degree with progress towards MRTPI Chartership.
  • A solid understanding of UK planning systems and regulations.
  • A proactive, commercially focused approach, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
