Are you a highly experienced Senior Town Planner looking for the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional to join a leading planning consultancy based in Bristol.



About the Role:

In this position, you will be tasked with leading a range of planning projects across the South West and nationally. You'll be involved in providing expert planning advice on diverse development schemes, from residential to commercial and mixed-use projects. The role requires a deep understanding of both strategic and development management planning, with the ability to lead teams and manage client relationships effectively.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and delivering complex planning applications and strategic planning projects
  • Offering advice on land promotion, planning policy, and development strategies
  • Managing projects from inception through to submission and delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities
  • Assisting in the mentoring and development of junior team members
  • Preparing and presenting evidence at hearings and public inquiries when required
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external professionals to ensure the success of projects


About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • A Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)
  • Strong experience in a senior planning role, ideally gained within a consultancy or local government
  • A comprehensive understanding of planning policy, legislation, and best practices
  • Proven experience in project management and working on large-scale development proposals
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality results under pressure
