My client, a leading town planning consultancy based in Bristol, is seeking a Senior Planner to join their growing team. Known for delivering high-quality, customer-focused development management services, my client is looking for an ambitious planning professional eager to further their career and contribute to the continued success of the team.



Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Planner, you will:

  • Deliver Planning Solutions: Use your broad knowledge of planning to achieve effective outcomes for clients, with a strong emphasis on clear communication and written reports.
  • Manage Planning Applications: Process planning applications efficiently, producing detailed reports and recommendations to meet client needs.
  • Prepare and Present Evidence: Assist clients by preparing and presenting evidence for planning appeals.
  • Support Team Development: Guide and support junior colleagues, ensuring they understand current planning issues and legislation.
  • Contribute to Business Growth: Assist with business development efforts, helping to foster repeat work and applying a commercial approach to your tasks.
  • Client Communication: Maintain professional and clear communication with clients, both in writing and verbally.


Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a degree in a town planning discipline and ideally be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant experience in either the Local Authority or private sector.
  • Be able to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet the business's commercial and contractual needs.
  • Possess strong knowledge of current planning legislation and work independently across a variety of planning sectors.
  • Be a team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Be committed to delivering high-quality, timely, and innovative planning solutions.
