Job Title: Town Planner

Location: Bristol

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a market-leading consultancy who are looking to add a Town Planner to the team based in Bristol. You'll be joining a well-established team, providing expert planning services to a broad range of clients across the Southwest region. With a strong pipeline of regionally significant projects, the team's work spans a variety of sectors, including residential development, major industrial and logistics schemes, retail repurposing, town centre regeneration, and large-scale urban mixed-use and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive planning appraisals of land, buildings, and concepts.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, including detailed planning statements.
  • Promote land through the Local Plan process and represent projects at Examination in Public.
  • Write detailed reports, analyse data, and provide clear recommendations.
  • Liaise and negotiate with planning officers, consultees, and third parties.

Key Skills:

  • MRTPI and/or MRICS qualified (or working towards qualification).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey planning arguments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, balancing workloads efficiently and reporting to senior members of the team.
  • Passion for mentoring and supporting junior planners and graduate colleagues.
