My client, a leading town planning consultancy based in Bristol, is seeking a Town Planner to join their expanding team. Known for delivering high-quality, customer-focused development management services, my client is looking for a motivated and ambitious planning professional to contribute to their continued success and growth.

Key Responsibilities

As a Town Planner, you will:

  • Assist with Planning Applications: Support the team in processing planning applications and producing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Provide Planning Advice: Offer professional advice on a range of planning matters, including development proposals and regulations.
  • Support Appeals: Assist in preparing evidence for planning appeals and supporting clients through the appeal process.
  • Conduct Site Assessments: Undertake site assessments to ensure that planning applications meet regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Clients: Maintain clear communication with clients, providing professional advice and updates throughout the planning process.
  • Contribute to Team Success: Work collaboratively within a dynamic team, ensuring high-quality results and helping to drive the overall success of the department.
Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in a town planning discipline and ideally be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • Have at least 1-3 years of relevant experience in either the Local Authority or private sector.
  • Have a strong understanding of current planning legislation and regulations.
  • Be able to manage time efficiently and work on multiple projects at once.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for working with clients and internal teams.
  • Be motivated, proactive, and eager to develop professionally in a fast-paced, growing environment.
