Construction Associate (4+ PQE) Department: Construction & Infrastructure Sub-Department: Non-Contentious Location: Bristol The Role My client, a national Legal 100 firm, are looking for a Solicitor, Associate, or Legal Executive with 4PQE+ to join their busy, well-regarded Construction team. Reporting to the Partners and working closely with a Senior Associate, you will focus on non-contentious construction and infrastructure matters. The department handles a broad range of projects for private and public sector clients across housing, retail, transport, energy, renewable, and more. Clients include private individuals, developers, SMEs, local authorities, and multinationals, including household names and listed companies. Your role will involve contract work across residential/commercial development, renewable energy, urban regeneration, joint ventures, and facilities management. You will work directly with clients from the start, advising on construction transactions, risk reviews, and negotiating terms. While we provide training in specialised areas, we expect you to bring enthusiasm for expanding your skills and knowledge. You’ll handle complex, high-value work and take on significant responsibility from the outset, with strong support from our experienced team and PSL. You 
  • Strong communicator with proven technical, organisational, and team-working skills. 
  • Experienced in providing accessible, commercially focused, and pragmatic advice under pressure to meet deadlines. 
  • Firm grounding in transactional, non-contentious practice within construction and/or infrastructure. 
  • Meticulous, with an eye for detail, accustomed to handling large, complex transactions and advising on routine matters. 
  • Experienced with NEC, JCT, and FIDIC contracts, professional appointments, and ancillary construction documentation. 
  • Beneficial experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on construction aspects of land sale contracts, agreements for lease, and development agreements. 
  • Skilled at building strong, lasting client relationships with a genuine commitment to their business needs. 
  • Self-motivated and ambitious, eager to expand knowledge of the construction and infrastructure sector. 
  • Up to date with policy and legal developments in construction and engineering, with enthusiasm for the sector's impact on clients and business growth. 
  • Supported with regular training, professional development, and business development opportunities.
