I am currently recruiting for a Solicitor or FCILEx to join the Employment team on behalf of a highly regarded National Legal 500 Law Firm, based in their Bristol office. The position offers a competitive salary, along with a host of additional benefits, including remote working with visits to the office in either Bristol, a bonus scheme, flexible working hours, and annual salary reviews. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a caseload of legal expense insurer files, with opportunities to engage in non-contentious tasks as needed. There may also be potential for overseeing junior case handlers. This role is perfect for a solicitor with extensive experience in employment law who seeks a challenging yet fulfilling position within a collaborative and supportive environment.

 Key Responsibilities:
  • Advising clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims.
  • Managing a caseload of Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings, witness statements, negotiating settlements, and instructing counsel or advocates as necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance with insurer service level agreements.
  • Supporting the team with non-contentious work, including the preparation of contractual documentation, handbooks, and reactive and proactive employment advice to commercial clients.
  • Participating in marketing initiatives, including writing updates on employment law and providing training sessions to clients.
  • Using the firm’s case management system to progress files, and handling billing and invoicing.
Essential Skills & Competencies:
  • Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEx.
  • A passion for employment law and providing practical, commercial solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to take full responsibility for cases and strategies, with team support.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines.
