I am working with a highly regarded firm that is seeking to further expand its award-winning intellectual property practice. This Legal 500 Tier 1 team is renowned for providing comprehensive advice across a broad spectrum of IP rights. Its expertise include complex IP disputes, high-value IP transactions and the clearing, registering & maintaining of trademarks & designs internationally.

This team supports offices across eight locations in the UK and collaborates with over 150 qualified IP lawyers & patent agents in the USA, offering a truly global reach.

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Partner to join a thriving team and play a pivotal role in its continued growth. You’ll bring extensive experience in IP disputes across various rights and a proven ability to draft & negotiate IP agreements, including licences, assignments, confidentiality agreements and R&D contracts.

You’ll also collaborate with colleagues in the USA, contributing to cross-border projects. Beyond client work, you’ll be instrumental in mentoring and developing junior team members, helping to shape the next generation of IP legal talent.

What’s Required?

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A track record of building and sustaining a successful IP law practice
• In-depth knowledge of IP law, with a strong understanding of market trends and its impact on clients
• A strategic approach to revenue management and prioritisation
• Strong leadership skills, with a commitment to coaching/mentoring team members
• A proactive mindset – seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement
• A commercial outlook and the ability to act as a role model within the team
• An established profile as a leader in the IP field
• An understanding of delivering legal services at the highest level
