The RoleThis is a part-time role supporting secondary school students with complex needs. Working under the direction of the class teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring the student can access the curriculum and thrive both academically and personally. Main Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted interventions to support the student's social and emotional development.
- Assist the student in accessing teaching content and fully engaging in lessons.
- Manage challenging behaviour with patience and calmness.
- Maintain the student's safety and welfare at all times.
- Provide regular feedback to the class teacher and/or SENDCo.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience working in an educational setting.
- Ability to build trusting relationships, remain calm under pressure, and use initiative.
- Patience, sensitivity, and a nurturing approach.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and needs.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience supporting students with complex needs.
- Relevant education/care qualification.
