Join our team as a Learning Mentor in Maths at our progressive college in Bristol. This role is crucial for fostering an inclusive educational environment, particularly supporting learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will be a vital member of our Additional Learning Support team, working to overcome individual learning barriers and enhance the overall student experience.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support learners in small groups, delivering tailored maths interventions that lead to improved outcomes, greater autonomy, and independence.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies that address specific areas of need, as identified by learners and staff, to help students achieve success.
  • Assist the Team Leader with the scheduling of sessions and the development of educational resources within the Study Plus team.
  • Share best practices with colleagues to enhance the effectiveness of the support provided.
  • Deliver one-on-one sessions focusing on Assistive Technology, demonstrating and identifying resources that can help remove barriers to learning, such as Immersive Reader, Reading Pens, and Microsoft 365 applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in supporting students in a learning environment, particularly in mathematics.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by learners with EHCPs or similar needs.
  • Ability to create and deliver effective intervention programs tailored to individual needs.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive tools to support learning.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with both curriculum and support staff.
  • A proactive approach to sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.
