We're looking for an experienced legal secretary to join our Commercial Property team in Bristol. You'll add tremendous value by supporting our lawyers with a range of secretarial and administrative duties. This is a full time role requiring at least 4 days per week in the office (ideally including Mondays and Fridays) to ensure the team is covered throughout the week.

You'll be responsible for handling Bighand dictations, invoicing and providing Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports. You'll also manage document production, including tracking changes, engrossments, and diary management for the legal team. Organising Teams meetings, filing documents using the post folder system, and archiving files will also form part of your day-to-day tasks. You'll need to obtain official copies from the Land Registry, produce search results, confirm bank details with law firms, and assist other teams in dating, scanning, and sending out important documents. Collaboration is a key element of this role, and you'll provide secretarial support to multiple lawyers and assist other secretaries with workloads when needed.

So Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?

You'll have at least two years' experience in a secretarial or administrative role, ideally within a legal environment. Real estate experience? Particularly Commercial Property? Fantastic!

Your proficient in audio typing and word processing, with the ability to transcribe dictation accurately and type quickly and efficiently. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effectively interacting with clients and colleagues. Organisational skills are crucial, as you'll be required to manage your workload independently and prioritise tasks in a busy setting. Flexibility and a collaborative mindset are also important, as you may need to assist other teams when necessary. Experience in document production and adhering to the firm's quality standards is required, along with familiarity with legal software systems.

Attention to detail is absolutely crucial, and you'll certainly need to be comfortable working with spreadsheets and numbers. You enjoy taking initiative, learning to new things and getting your teeth stuck in to various tasks.
