Legal SecretaryLocation: BristolDays of Work: Monday - Friday, 8.30 am - 5.30 pmSalary: £25,500.00The Legal Secretary will be responsible for supporting solicitors by performing a variety of administrative duties, including drafting legal correspondence, managing legal documentation, answering phones, greeting visitors, and maintaining communication with solicitors, clients, and court personnel.Working for a fun dynamic teamMain Duties" Document Preparation and Management:" Transcribe, proofread, and type legal documents." Prepare court forms and file legal documents with the court ahead of deadlines." Assist in drafting and preparing legal documents, forms, and bundles." Prepare Court Bundles." File, organise, and scan legal documents, keeping records up to date using the Practice Management System (PMS)." Filing documents on files where necessary.Administrative Support:" Schedule court depositions, hearings, and other meetings." Arrange appointments for clients and make travel arrangements for solicitors." Time record and assist Fee Earners with file compliance." Prepare post for mailing and scan incoming post into the system for distribution to Fee Earners." Download audio recordings and manage electronic filing.Reception and Communication:" Answer telephone calls, providing professional and courteous service." Communicate effectively with solicitors, clients, court personnel, and colleagues.Skills and Experience Required:Qualifications & Training:OCR Higher Diploma in Administrative and Secretarial Procedures or equivalent (e.g., Degree).Legal Secretaries Diploma from the Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs (ILSPA).City & Guilds CILEX Level 3 Certificate for Legal Secretaries.3 A Levels.Key Skills:" Communication Skills: Ability to communicate professionally with barristers, solicitors, clients, and colleagues." Written Skills: Excellent spelling, grammar, and a high level of written English." Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when preparing legal documents and forms." Organisational Skills: Ability to manage lawyers' diaries and prioritise tasks effectively." IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and legal technology (e.g., court-filing systems, transcription software, Dictaphone)." Teamwork: Strong ability to work collaboratively with clients, lawyers, and other legal secretaries." Professionalism: Courteous and professional demeanour with a strong sense of discretion."
