Your new company

They currently have an excellent opportunity for a paralegal to join their forward-thinking legal team in Bristol. The team are working in a hybrid manner and anticipate that the successful candidate will need to come to the Bristol office 2 days per week. This is a full-time role, but four days per week will also be considered for the right person.

Your new role

The legal team provides critical services to enable the organisation to deliver its strategy, and you will be supporting them in operating the legal function. You will provide support for a broad range of legal matters, with your key responsibilities including undertaking legal research and supporting the lawyers in providing legal advice to colleagues within the organisation. You will be delivering and working in a team, supporting lawyers in formulating legal advice for the organisation, contributing your own thoughts and legal analysis. You will enjoy acting on a wide range of legal matters, conducting research and document reviews on legislation applying to the higher education sector, data protection, human rights law, litigation activities and consumer protection law.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have a keen interest in public law and will have paralegal experience gained through working in a similar role. This role would also suit candidates who have worked as a judicial research assistant or chambers legal assistant. You will have excellent legal research skills, the ability to analyse case law and identify complex legal issues and experience of drafting legal memos. You will have proactive problem-solving abilities and will have a law degree (or equivalent conversion course).
