Reed have partnered with a Bristol based leading provider of will writing, estate planning, and probate services in the UK, recruiting for a Last Will and Testament Drafter & Proofreader.

This role is ideal for a legal professional with strong attention to detail and experience in drafting and reviewing wills and associated estate planning documents.

Based in East Bristol with off-street parking close to the office, you will be joining a growing team with a current headcount of 20 staff, that includes long-standing staff who have been with the business 25 years!

Duties:

  • Draft and review wills, trusts, and estate planning documents with precision and legal accuracy using Willsuite software (Leap).
  • Proofread documents to ensure correct grammar, punctuation, and legal terminology.
  • Ensure compliance with UK wills and probate legislation.
  • Work closely with legal consultants and estate planners to tailor documents to client needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of inheritance laws, tax regulations, and estate planning best practices.
  • Liaise with clients when necessary to confirm document details and ensure legal requirements are met.
  • Implement best practices for document formatting, structure, and legal clarity.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations (GDPR).
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff in document drafting and proofreading.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in will drafting, legal document preparation, or estate planning.
  • Strong knowledge of UK wills, probate, and inheritance laws.
  • Experience using Willsuite software (Leap) for drafting wills and legal documents.
  • Exceptional proofreading and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to understand and interpret legal language with clarity and precision.
  • Experience using case management software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Understanding of LPAs (Lasting Powers of Attorney), trusts, and estate administration is an advantage.
  • Legal qualifications (e.g., CILEX, STEP, LLB, or equivalent experience in will writing) are desirable but not essential.
