You’ll manage a varied and rewarding caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity. You’ll have the support of a dedicated Paralegal and Legal Secretary, with the chance to develop your professional profile through networking and business development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Fee-Earning Work:
- Interview clients, take detailed instructions, and maintain thorough file notes.
- Review compliance documentation and analyse source of funds evidence in line with AML regulations.
- Draft and review contract packages, raise enquiries, and submit searches.
- Prepare title, mortgage, and search reports to ensure all transactions are completed efficiently.
- Act for mortgage lenders and manage exchanges of contracts.
- Provide regular updates to clients, keeping them informed of progress and costs.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of conveyancing law and practice, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Get involved in marketing and business development, including networking, attending events, and engaging on social media.
Financial & Accounts Management:
- Prepare bills of costs, completion statements, and manage fund transfers.
- Request payments on account and manage client cheques.
- Oversee telegraphic transfers and financial approvals, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
The Ideal Candidate:The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer.
- Have previous experience managing residential property transactions (ideally within the Bristol property market).
- Be IT literate, with confidence in using legal case management systems.
- Demonstrate high standards of client care, with a professional yet personable approach.
- Be proactive in business development, including networking and social media.
- Have a Law degree or CILEx Professional Qualification (CPQ).
